Hear Ye! Hear Ye!

One more reason to rejoice over Fridays:
A plethora of mighty talented guest bloggers will grace us here at ConversationsWithACupcake. I can’t wait for you to meet each of them!
*
{Squeal of delighted anticipation!}
*
This Friday, Sunshine Crawford from Make Life Delicious will share a bit about her blog and three–yes, THREE–frighteningly fun & simple halloween recipes. Talk about spooky and sweet.
*
To kick of this exciting announcement, I thought we should most definitely have a Thursday guest blogger, too.

Alyssa Ruth is my very own 5-year-old wonder girl. Today, as soon as she got home from school, she began moving about the kitchen with intense speed and focus. Me, ever caught in the flurry that is afterschool chaos, hardly noticed a thing. Until, Alyssa caught my attention.

“Mom? Mo-oom?”
(They almost always have to call me twice,
or thrice, or…sice.)
I turned to look at her.
Sheepishly, she nodded her head toward the table.

“I made this. For the blog. Now, take a picture.”

Oh, dear soul. Trying to be like her {often} wild-haired mommy. I picked her up and squeezed her hard. Then, pulled out the camera and snapped the shot above. Her very first post.

I think it’s a darn, good one, too.
(In the meantime, I pray that you will please, please, please forget that we actually somehow have Diet Pepsi AND Snickers bars in our house–at the same time. The horror).

This morning, Colorado Springs woke to our first sprinkling of snow.

Most of the family listened to Johnny Mercer croon “Baby, It’s Cold Outside” as we filled our empty bellies with warm breakfast. Alyssa, however, had other plans.

Upon seeing the snow, she ran downstairs with her three white stuffed animals.
She wanted them to see the white snow, too.
*
When she opened the door, and discovered there was “too much wind for them to go outside,” she ran outside alone and licked the wooden railings of the deck to partake of that perfect, new winter dusting. {I think I shall lick her for dessert tonight. Yummy Girl.}
Welcome Winter.
Now Go Home.

    Babe, I love this post. That picture that Alyssa set up is HILARIOUS! And…I think Diet Pepsi and Snickers are GREAT to have around. :)
