Welcome Friday!

Our guest blogger today is the remarkable
Lizzy Anne.
A blogger, a photographer, a quilter,
a mom (with durned cute kids)
And somehow she pulls everything off with
grace and style.
A recent giveaway on her site welcomed a mere
2200+ comments from entrants
aching to win one of her handmade quilts.
Welcome, Welcome Wondrous Lizzy!

Elizabeth from Pigtails & Snails joining you! I am first of all very excited to be guest posting here with Brooke! This is a first for me!

Conversations with a Cupcake, that makes me giggle each time I say it. I can’t say that I have many conversations with my baked goods, I would have to bake them first of all and well that is one thing I don’t do much of. I actually use to make wonderful bread, pies, buns, etc. But haven’t done it for years. My husband of almost 7 years found out a couple years ago and hasn’t stop begging me for baking since! Perhaps I should take that not so subtle hint.

I do however find inspiration in so many things around me. I am first an artist and so my environment is important to me. I have been passionate about art since junior high school. I was put in an environment that allowed me to thrive. I had amazing teachers, and fellow artist to build my theories on art and give me a creative base. Although I find less time for drawing now, I do find time for artistic expression in how I dress my kids, make dinner, quilt, blog and decorate my home.

Right now I am loving lanterns! I have a very eclectic style. I find that I am happiest when I stay true to that. I find greater harmony in my surroundings and in my circle of friends when I place myself in the middle of many things unique, cohesive and beautiful, and many people, unique, one in heart and beautiful. I love being friends with those that can think out of the box, but find structure from those that live within the box.

Something else that makes me tick these days is images. Really good rich images. I have taken my photography more seriously this past summer and gone semi professional. I am loving what comes of that. I look around as I am driving or whatever and all I can see is how to make a great shot. It’s amazing that as we immerse ourselves in something that we love, how we see it everywhere we go. It’s like being pregnant, as soon as you are, or even want to be, all you see is other pregnant woman! I’m pregnant with my fourth right now and let me tell you it is true!!

With my creative personality comes some quirks. I do tend to be slightly O.C.D. I like even numbers, I am probably way to organize for my own good. when I was first married my husband use to leave his glass out just to see how long it would take me to put it away! Although I’m sure my time would be much slower now with three and a half kids and a new quilting company (Lizzy Anne) coming down the pipes, I still think the average person isn’t a slave to their compulsions like me. (okay, I know a few of you are!)

I love my crazy demanding life, the people in it and I’m happy to include a few more of you into my little maze of creative inspirations. Check out my blog for more of me!
