I woke with a cold.
And a thrown out back.
And cramps. Ugh.
After church, Andrew–my 10 year old–gathered the children together and whispered to the lot of them, his arms around their thoughtful huddle, in the back seat of our car.
Upon arriving home, Rebecca escorted me upstairs to the guest room. “Lay down.” She insisted.
Alyssa arrived, apron tied around her neck and waist, there to deliver a pot and spoon, “Bang on this if you need anything.”
Jacob hopped up on the bed. “Feeling better mom? Do you want some ice cream?”
In no time at all, I was cozied under covers. Delivered ice cream. Watching episodes of “I Love Lucy.” And served, as it was called, “Andrew’s Spaghetti with Andrew’s Top Secret Sauce.“
Lucky for you, he was willing to share his recipe.
Lucky for me, It’s no secret…
my kids have a way of
making a sick mom feel better.
Lots, lots, better.
I think I’m in love with sick days.
I think I’m madly in love with four, delectable children.
