Now this is a hard decision! I am going to go with my 4 friends from college because the 5 of us always have such a fabulous time when we’re together. We’ve been friends for over 22 years. (Oh, that shows how old I am:)
AmberN225 on November 10, 2008 at 10:13 am
Alright, now the secret is out. I’ve been following your blog since day 1 :).
Anyways, my 4 most fabulous friends would be really hard to pick. Different friends through the years have all done so much for me.
Most recently though, I would definitely give credit to my fab friend Jen. She is such a great listener; so easy to talk to; so supportive; so kind; so real; so generous. One day I had a strong feeling that someone had been praying for me – asking for a very specific thing that I needed. When that blessing came, I was sure that someone had prayed it to me – and come to find out later, it was my sweet Jen. That’s one of my favorites, but I could go on for hours about all the reasons she is such a fabulous – and heaven-sent – friend to me.
So as not to write a novel, I will just mention the rest a little quicker.
-Lacey – my dear sister who shares every funny moment with me from either of our lives. She makes me feel young again, and for 6 months that she stayed with us, she made my life just blissful. I miss her so much now that she lives far away again.
-Tiffani – another who has shared so much help with me – easing my burdens and always lending an encouraging listening ear. Not to mention she totally fixed my daughters hair after she attempted a buzz cut last week.
-Anna – a great friend from my college days. We travel at least a few times a year to see each other because we just have so much fun. Our game nights are a force to be reckoned with :). And she is always willing to lend a helping hand to me as I scramble with my kiddos.
I don’t know if you wanted that much info or not, but these friends mean so much to me – and I rarely tell them. So, I just had to take the opportunity to spill my guts.
I love all 4 of you guys!!

new here – found you through lizzy writes…and had to come check your blog out – b/c anything to do w/ sweets and i’m so on it!
my best friends…
1. sister
2. husband
3. grandma
4. bff, aim.
each is so different and brings something so special to my life… there are so many people i consider to be important friends that i could offer up 40 names!
Andrea on November 10, 2008 at 3:04 pm
Wow, I just commented for the first time on lizzy writes, and now THIS! It’s a delurking miracle I tell ya. Four friends, huh? Well, my husband is, of course, my VERY best friend, but somehow I doubt he’d care for an apron, so I’d have to go with
1. My cousin, Amy. She knows EV-ER-Y thing about me and still loves me. She is the most fun girl. She makes everyone feel like the funniest, most interesting person on Earth.
2. Emily. We have been friends since we were eight. We wrote letters religiously when she moved across the country when we were ten. We roomed together in college. She really “gets” me, which is something I can’t say about many people.
3. Delanie. I met her in college and she helped me through my first heart break with her listening and understanding. She is a dedicated friend and has risked life and limb (and her marriage – her husband is a saint to put up with our crazy plans) to come see me twice since college.
4. Nicole. She was the first friend I made after I moved to a new town to marry my man. She is a shining example of everything I want to be. No, seriously. She is perfect. And yet she still takes pity on my imperfect self and continues to be my friend despite the miles that now separate us. *Bonus: our husbands are best friends, too!
Becki Madsen on November 10, 2008 at 3:36 pm
Oh dear Brooke..
My four fab friends are:
*my husband of 12 years who gave me my six kids, loves to bake and lets me sleep in on the weekends (who wouldn’t love a man like that?)
*my friend Trinette whom I have gone through pregnancies, miscarriages, half-marathons, moves, heart-aches and happiness with.
*my friend Brooke, (is it politically correct to nominate you in your own contest?) Anyway, when my daughter falls out of a ride at Chuck-e-Cheese just to run and give you a hug…that says it all. You inspire me and lift me up in so many ways. Thank you!
*my four sisters, though they are far and we don’t get to talk alot, I cherish them for the people they are and are trying to become.
Blessed be a woman’s friends!
Noodle on November 10, 2008 at 7:42 pm
You inspired me to comment, after describing the package I might win as “pure cupcake love.” How irresistable!
To begin with, I found you through lizzywrites, so credit her with my fandom. :)
Now, on to my Fab Four Friends:
Number one, my husband, who just brought me a mug of egg drop soup that he prepared with his own two hands. I am unable to do many things, and, without a complaint, he does the shopping, the cooking, the laundry, and all the other things that I can’t – plus, he makes me laugh. He is the most loving man on the planet…I could go on and on!
Number two Fab Friend is my daughter Megan. She takes me to my appointments and book club, plays, and my grandkids’ activities, even when they are miles away. She’s such good company to me, even as she also takes care of her husband and three children, five and under. I really appreciate her!
Third is my second-eldest daughter, Melinda. She is also married with three young children (six and under). Her six-year old boy is autistic, and a handful! Somehow, Melinda carries on with panache, and she’s so fun to be with! She lives in another city, yet she makes the time to call and visit me with her family. She’s great!
Fourth is my youngest daughter, Haley. She just got married last April and she’s a fulltime student in another city. Haley used to be the biggest DRAMA QUEEN on the block! Fortunately, she turned all that drama into lots of loving energy, and she will call and visit me whenever she can (with the gasoline crunch, each of us can’t visit as often as we’d like).
Haley loves to do for others, as do all my girls. We also adore getting together to watch old classic movies and munch on popcorn and gummy worms…or to just plain gab and catch up on all the funny things the grandkids say.
I also have four sons and a daughter-in-law, as well as two sons-in-law. They all are so careful and loving with me, and they each have their own place in my heart. I have loving extended family, too, and I couldn’t ask for better.
You can see how blessed I am – sigh…But since I can only name four, I’ll have to say my husband and daughters. They are genuinely fabulous friends to me!
MegJill on November 11, 2008 at 1:26 am
Wow! I can’t wait to to tell you about my favorite people, even though a few of them are the same as Noodle put on her post! They must be some pretty cool people. Oh, and Noodle is my mother, Diane, and she sent me your way.
Okay, here I go…
So, Noodle/Mommy has to be on this list! She has been my mom for 30 years now (I’m really 18 but trapped in a 30 year olds body). Through more trials than anyone I have ever met, she taught us to take life like an adventure! Because of this, I try to see life with a happy light. For instance, if we get lost it can be one of the funnest thing my family has ever done! Even with extreme health problems, she always wants the grandkids to come over and play with her. I lay on her bed with the baby and we all talk while my other kids sit on her lap playing games with her. These are some of my favorite times, and she is my favorite mom.
Next up, Melinda, my sister. She is two years younger than me and we are SOOO much alike that it is truly weird. One time she was describing the place mat she just bought to go under her cats food bowl and I realized it was the same as the ones I had just bought for our table! Growing up in the middle of no where in Texas taught us how much fun we could have with each other. Even with husbands, children and living in different towns we still spend hours together, even only if by phone. We’ve decided that if we are ever stranded on an island we hope the other one is there because we can talk forever and never get bored.
Next friend and sister, Haley, who is ten years younger than me. Haley has always been like Amy from Little Women, except where Jo would leave Amy at home, Haley would come with me everywhere! I have memories of sitting in cars talking with dates, and Haley was in the back seat listening to us! She’d go to the store with me at midnight, swing dance with my friends in our living room and stay up with us on Christmas Eve to watch movies and wrap the younger kids gifts. Her husband and her come sleep on my floor just so we can be together and jabber. The older and more wrinkly we get the more we realize we have in common and the funner we have. Oh, and in a few weeks my mom and us girls are all going to see Twilight together!
Okay, now to the man in my life, who I wouldn’t have married if we weren’t such good friends! My hubby and I were friends for about 6 months before he asked me out. Then we e-mail dated while I was in Hawaii for part of the summer and I have to admit, as beautiful as Hawaii is, one of my favorite things there was coming home each night to read his e-mails! Now, he loves to feed my love handles with his latest and greatest food creations, and my favorite way to fall asleep is cuddled up listening to him watch the Good Eats cooking show. We also like to try his new Judo moves on each other (we always end up on the floor laughing).
There’s my list of my favorites! Thanks for reminding me of why I love them, and I hope I win!

Rachael on November 11, 2008 at 11:39 am
like half the other people commenting, I found you via Lizzy Writes. And I think your pomegranate week is SO COOL!
Best friends? I’d have to go with my husband, my mom, my college roommate, and, odd as it may seem, my three-year-old daughter. We do absolutely everything together (plus her fifteen-month-old sister), and she is so much fun! I love watching her little personality unfold.
Gigi on November 11, 2008 at 12:41 pm
I have many friends some I talk to once every five years and it feels like yesterday. I have golf friends, riding (motorcycle) friends but my bestest (is that really a word?) friend is Linda. I’ve know Linda for many years and the only thing I think we haven’t done together is go to jail. But hey…you never know
Megan on November 11, 2008 at 4:54 pm
I’d have to start with my 2 fabulous sisters.
Amberly is the oldest and has always taken care of me. Like when I made her tell our Mom that I got my period or when she had to tell our Mom that I needed a training bra. What would I have done with out her.
Tara is my other sister who I tried to be like style wise growing up. And now she calls for my opinion.
Brynn is such a good friend she is now my family. From the outside we are complete opposites and maybe that’s why our friendship is so complete.
Tyson my husband for putting up with my craziness and still loving me just the same. For being such a champ during the births of our two sons and being the best Dad he can be.
Miss JC on November 11, 2008 at 10:49 pm
Four friends…
1. My mom…she’s the best mommy, and I tell her everything..even when she doesn’t want to hear it!
2. My big sis..She’s the greatest..but don’t tell her I said that! We still fight like we are twelve and fifteen, but we get closer every day..:)
3. Brooke..I don’t remember a time when I DIDN’T know her. My first memories of life included her!
4. Robyn…she has been there since middle school and she is always there for me even when my problems are quite trivial..
Thanks for the giveaway! Your blog is the cutest..
Kristy on November 11, 2008 at 11:21 pm
My four friends would have to be:
1. My husband, My Hero. He has served our country in Iraq and even though he was scared, lonely, and miserable while there, he would still take the time to listen to me whine, complain, and rant about my life back home.
2. My sister Julie. We have been through alot, we were pregnant together and she had a miscarriage, was so hard on both of us, even though she was mad and seemed to hate me for still being pregnant, we made it through. Here we are 3 years later and she just recently made me the most proudest Aunt in the world.
3. My mom. Even though she drives me nuts sometimes and I feel she puts her 2 cents in too often, she is still there whenever I need her. It’s nice to know when hubby isn’t around or my sister won’t answer her dern cell phone, my mom is always open to conversation.
4. My kids, all 4 of them. They are the best friends anyone could ask for. They let you hug them, play with them, laugh at them, take their picture a million times, and are always there for me no matter what.
Great giveaway, I’ve enjoyed reading all about everyone’s fab four friends!
Rachel Ann on November 12, 2008 at 1:23 am
1. My BFF! Talked to her for over an hour tonight on the phone…she’s in NC, I’m in WA State…too far!
2. My GOOD friend Holly…you know you are close when you get up and close and personal during childbirth and the ENTIRE delivery process!
3. My college friend Sarah…our jaunts to Target are the BEST! LOL…I live in a small town so when I come to see her we always hit Target, Starbucks and a walk around the store!
4. My college friend Christina! Love this girl and her desire to give, give, give! Her and her husband are excellent hosts to all of their friends and have a very warm and open home!
5. ALL the other people I consider friends!

The fab four. I have four friends that could make up an unstoppable superhero team. First: Danica. The straight shooting, tell you how it is no matter the pain, wise beyond her years friend that I call everyday. She is the one who gives me advice, listens to me cry, and sets me straight. She doesn’t let me wallow.
Second: Sherilyn. The friend who gets me off the couch and to the gym, park, or sidewalk to get moving. Runs marathons but keeps my pace when she is running with me. And keeps me laughing so the workout flys by.
Third: Malinda. The one who married my husbands friend so I inherited her. Is so comfortable to be around she came into the delivery room with me. The friend that I can totally be at ease with, wash her dishes, and laugh until I wet my pants.
Fourth: Diane. Fifteen years older than I am, and all I want to be when I am her age. Happy, optimistic, and always up for a good time. Dances on her chair when she wins at Bunko, too.
I am lucky to have such amazing women on my team. And as you can imagine, these descriptions only scratch the surface of what truely amazing women they are. Thanks for the chance to really appreciate these women-now I have to call them all to set up some good times to come!

Such a “frindly” giveaway! Love the aprons!!! My 4 fab friends? Dificult to narrow down to 4, but i guess if I these 4 came to my mind first that must mean something, right? I’ll start with Tere and Ali, me 2 spanish housemates from when I studied at the Uni there. Funny thing when you live with people, relationships are upgraded so fast! We were really a family and I love them dearly. Next I’ll go with Claudia, my good friend since we were 10, we are almost 30 now and still as close. Living down the road from each other does help. But really, mu trully best friend is my mom!
Charisse on November 15, 2008 at 11:53 am
So, I found you through some crazy blog surfing. And I have to say that I love your site. I am obsessed with all things cupcake. And, since you just had POMEGRANATE week…I am totally hooked. POMEGRANATE has been my newfound favorite fruit since my daughter’s father introduced me to them while I was pregnant. I love everything pomegrante.
OK….on to the purpose of this comment. I am a firm believer in the belief that you have different friends for different reasons and for different times in your life. The 4 best people in my life are Toby, Nini, Lety, and Benjamin. Brace yourself as this could be a long one. SORRY!!!
Toby has been my best friend since we were in middle school. She is my girl pal. She is the one that goes through everything with me. I call her to cry. I call her to laugh. I call her to calm down when I am overly angry or irritated. She is the bestest of my best friends. She has always been there. She cracks me up. My favorite memory was way back in middle school, I believe. She came to spend the night and EVERYthing went wrong. My mom tried to make a fire in the fireplace to warm the house up. THE FLUE WAS CLOSED and the whole house filled with smoke, so we opened the back sliding doors a little bit to get the smoke out of the house. My dog had recently had a litter of puppies and they got outside in the back in the pouring rain in the middle of a very chilly November evening. Imagine wrangling 13 little bitty puppies back in. We had to put 13 puppies in the bathtub to get them all washed off. We were dirty and stinky and muddy and wet. Toby learned that night that YES you can wash your tennis shoes in the washing machine.
Nini is an awesome friend because she is the one I can tell the yucky stuff to. I am such a girly girl and I can’t tell everyone my gross stuff. But I can tell her. She doesn’t judge me or tell anyone else (except maybe her fiance which is totally understandable). And in return, I answer all her questions and we talk about everything. She laughs at the same stuff I do and she has the same dorky high school boy humor that I do. We both chuckle at the word boobies or penetration. And we are grown women with one child each. I guess we will not grow out of that.
Lety was the one who brought me out of my shell and got me through the breakup of an 8 year relationship. She taught me that I was a cool person all on my own and that I could make my own identity. She is silly with me and we have so many memories together. A lot of those memories revolve around alcohol filled evenings of our young 20s and it seems like we are always re-telling and reliving the same stories every time we get together.
Benjamin was the boy from the aforementioned 8 year relationship break up. He is one of my very best friends. He knows me. He was my first BIG boyfriend. We lived together. We broke up off and on. We had a child together in high school. He was there when my grandmother died. He is friends with most of my friends’ older siblings. He gets annoyed at my family the same as I do. And he is always there to tell me to pick myself up, stop my complaining, and move on with my life.
Worm's Woman on November 20, 2008 at 9:12 am
So I have to pick only 4?!
Well then I shall try
1.Larry – my hubby and best friend from the moment we met. He has taught me to stand up for myself and make myself happy, and has been there through some really really bad times (he never left me during my surgery and did some amazing things for me while I recovered)
2.Charisse – words can’t describe what she has done for me and what she means. See her post for some of our funny memories.
3.Kristi – she is a friend I have drifted on and off with with contact, but we always make it back to eachother. She is one heck of a support of strenght for me.
4.Lori – Gosh she is the next to longest friend I’ve had…21 years. We know just about everything about eachother!
Trinette McCrary on November 21, 2008 at 10:41 am
1. My Husband of 10 years. He is my night and shining armor. No joke and I know it sounds cheesy, but it is true. My first husband was mentally and physically abusive. My sweet husband has shown me what a normal marriage is all about.
2. My 2 sisters who have been there for me through thick and thin.
3. My best friend Becki. She is the best example to me. I just love her to pieces. I believe we have been friends our whole life even though we met 11 years ago, friends for 8 years or so.
4. My sister-in-law Shannon. Wow, how blessed I am to have married into such a great family. She is my rock.
Adi on November 22, 2008 at 9:42 pm
1. my mom. she is truly amazing and had the good sense to teach me to ride horses and cook. she grew up in latin america so we spent lots of time in the kitchen with the salsa music blaring. to this day afro-cuban rhythms get me salivating.
2. my twin brother. he is seriously my other half and given that we shared a womb he is my oldest friend. we affectionately call each other twinkie. and while we seldom cook together, he seriously loves my homemade ice cream sandwiches.
3. my significant other. my other other half! we make each other better, in all ways. he loves sports center, i love reading- just one example of how our differences complement each other. i like making him pumpkin bread and oatmeal raisin cookies.
4. the lovely Gracie. one of my truest friends. while we live far apart she makes time for my big moments and comes through always. she is generous, a great listen and a beautiful woman inside and out. i always admire the balance she finds in her life. and each day i ask, “how can i be more like Grace?”
great blog!
