Cheers.

In December, I was contacted by the POM company.
One of the finalists in their blogger contest,
I spent the next month with fingers, legs and eyes crossed
in hopes I’d have the chance to be their 2009 blogger.
*
Last week, I learned the prized title
went to another worthy blogger.
And, rather than $5,000
I get a case of POM juice.
*
To utilize all that rubied nectar
I’m now working on a toast
that goes somethin’ like this…
*
There once was a blogger named Brooke
Whom with many a POM fruit did cook
She hoped and she prayed
Baked, broiled and filleted
Alas, lost to a cleverer rook.
*
Bottoms Up.

Hey, Pom Wonderful Brooke, I was thinking of developing a pomegranate curd recipe to go with homemade crumpets and (dare I say it?) clotted cream. Maybe you’ll need to bring a cup of that Mormon wine, and we could put our heads together. You could be my star sophistiblogger of the week. We would, of course, have herbal tea and tea sandwiches and lots of pleasant chatting. Oh, and this time I’ll remember to take pictures.
