Sweet Fried Gnocchi Dumplings
Let us halt our schedules but a moment,
close tired eyes, fill lungs with slow breath,
Farewell, farewell, farewell, my beautiful Figaro …

Sweet Fried Gnocchi Dumplings
A quick, simple, and unique dessert, this recipe combines a few of my most passionate European loves. Tender gnocchi is flash-fried until the outside is crispy, then rolled into a bowl of sugar tickled with the scent of fresh lemon and nutmeg. Nutella makes for the perfect dipping sauce (doesn’t it always?!). Topped with fresh strawberries, touching off the end of your favorite spaghetti & meatballs meal, this piccolo treat might just make you sing.
8 oz. gnocchi, cooked and drained
2 c. light olive oil
1 c. sugar
Zest of 1 lemon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
Nutella
In a medium pan, heat olive oil to medium-high heat. Working carefully, place gnocchi in hot oil, frying on both sides until edges are barely browned. Remove from oil and toss immediately in sugar flavored with lemon & nutmeg. Serve warm with Nutella dipping sauce, or allow to cool just slightly before snacking.
The End.
Truly, that’s is not REALLY the end…

Sounds GREAT! I LOVE Nutella. Now I'll have to get some next time I'm at the store. I could just eat that stuff straight up!
