Blog Aid for Haiti Cookbook

I remember just after 9/11.
The day after, two days after, a week after.
I remember being sad sick when I thought about the state of New York City.
I remember praying. A lot.
I remember being afraid to get the mail.
(You never know about that whole anthrax shenanigan.
And, anyway stay-at-home moms living in the middle of Colorado
were very likely targets for terror attacks. You know.)
*
Even more than feeling afraid, I remember
A powerful sense of togetherness.
I remember praying,
and knowing that my prayer was united
with tens of thousands of others just like it across the nation and world.
I remember emailing friends, a worried and wondering “Is all okay?”
And, I remember them emailing back, asking the same of me.
Strangers nodded gentle hello’s on the streets.
Schoolchildren offered pounds of pennies into donation bins.
My own children and I made red, white,& blue ribbons,
and stood in an upstairs wing of the Chapel Hills Mall,
handing them out to anyone who would pin them on their lapel.
*
“How much do you want for this?” Inquired one shopper, a scruffy man in tan work clothes.
“Nothing.” I responded. “It’s just a gift.”
Tears seeped into the basin of his eyes.
He tried to speak but changed his mind and nodded instead.
Pulling his wallet out, he handed me a twenty-dollar bill.
“Keep giving,” He whispered in a choked voice, “God Bless.”

Wouldn’t we ever and always avoid tragedies of any sort–
be them man-made or mother nature?
And yet, broken somehow breeds beauty when placed in the hands of the whole.
Strength and unselfishness and resilience and humanity
rise to the surface, creating a new foundation on which the devastated can build.

On top of being an incredible opportunity to support Haiti, you are going to adore the cookbook! It’s absolutely dandy….*

It includes some of my favorite foodies. All of which have published breathtaking photos.

Just look at that table of contents! Look at that list of contributors. Incredible, I say! Absolutely delectable!

I always like cook books, specially when it carres valuable info like yours.
any way i wanna tell an important thing for which we all should be concerned.
After an Heavy natural disaster It's become back dated. And bearing unmeasurable sufferings. Still now it's facing crisis from all sides, created from the Earth Quake as well as by nature. But It's time to change the day, So request all of you to come forward to make tha days ahead distinctly.
I think at this moment HAITI really needs help to be rebuild.Outgoing Haitian President René Préval has set the presidential elections for Nov. 28, 2010.
According to ma justification,
In Election 2010 Haiti Presidentr Baker should be under consideration as a deserving personality,
who can supply the best support and leadership
Thank you.
