Sheer Randomness

I’m contacted by companies almost daily. Food businesses looking to share samples. New online ventures asking for a linky. People in far off lands who tell me “I impress your site very lots.” Um, okay.

Because I’m conscious of you as a reader, I try to carefully pick through these offers and pass along only the very best, most worthwhile of endeavors. Which means, not a lot. Because what I think it most worth your time is sitting at home and cooking with your people.

However, this week, a company contacted me that I found irresistibly worth attention. A new online Comedy Show titled Sheer Randomness which, quite literally has kept me laughing for an hour straight as I catch up on all their latest videos.

Maybe I think they comedy foursome is extra cute because they are my absurdly clever nephew Zack (just watch how vintage funny he is on screen!), my ridiculously sweet niece Kylie (freckles and a sense of humor, watch out world), and my two oldest children, Andrew (whip smart, motivated, and the computer brains behind building the website) and Rebecca (vibrant and silly. Two of my favorite qualities). But, if you happen to catch their latest video (below), I think you’ll agree…they aren’t just lovable because I’m their mother. They are genuinely brilliant at writing sketch comedy, performing it, and well….baking chocolate chip cookies.

Saturday Night Live, watch yer back.

While you’re clicking on lovely things worth your time today, stop by my beautiful friend, Meghan’s new blog, Scarlet and Snow. Meghan is unlike anyone I’ve ever known before. Deeply artistic and rich with a mind of visionary splendor. While the rest of us moms are trying to figure out how to finish laundry AND get ourselves showered in a single day, Meghan is constructing breathtaking photo scenes with her children and friends. Just because she can’t help but create. Just to celebrate and marvel at beauty. Just because color oozes from her soul in absurd degrees. Stop by, make her one of your new favorite blogs. Watch her soar. Because, it won’t be long before we all get to say “wow, remember when that Meghan was just starting out?” Maybe she’ll be nice enough to let us visit her during NYC fashion week and eat cupcakes in her inevitable penthouse apartment.

Eek.

seriously. I’m dyin’ over here…belly laughs galore. How adorable are these chitlins? I have total flashbacks of us doing very similar things (without the video camera…we’d just act out skits and commercials in front of the family…and record ourselves on the “tape recorder”) – oh sweet youth, it’s good to be alive! and…scarlet and snow…sigh. I’m-a followin….
