Quick Party Snacks: Double-Dip Your Hummus
My mom always calls when the blog goes quiet. “I’m worried about you. You haven’t been updating lately.”
At a party last week, a friend summed up the last two years of my life for me with seven fingers, “So basically, you’ve changed religions, sold a house, got divorced, moved to a new home, launched a new career, got a new boyfriend, and changed your haircut twice.”
Yeah, it’s been busy lately. And this summer has proved busier than ever. There’s been work travel and play travel. There’s been saying goodbye to family and visiting friends and spending lazy weekends on the beach with sisters. There’s been work, work, and more work. And a trip to NYC with Sabra, which was so fun (in large part because of Momma Cuisine) that I ought write a history of it for progenitors.
Plus also, there’s more. My mom was right to wonder. Because blog silence isn’t just busy-ness. It’s taking space from knowing what to say.
I’m adding another finger to that friend’s list of changes, packing up belongings and moving straight into the heart of Salt Lake City.
It’s a kid thing. It’s a fresh start thing. It’s an embracing where I came from thing. It’s a family thing. It’s a crazy thing. It’s a peaceful thing. It’s a makes-perfect-sense thing. And makes-no-sense-at-all thing.
I suppose, after the last two years, it could simply be summed up as a Cheeky thing. And, it’s something I’m both sorrowing over and celebrating. But, mostly just celebrating. Because parties are fun and worth having. So, pull out the dip and let’s live life to the fullest.
You know, YOLO.
So, here’s how we’re gonna pull together a party quick. I’ve been craving hummus ever since Sabra introduced us to their newest slogan, Dip Life to the Fullest. (How cute is that?!) (Ummm, so cute!) And it got me thinking. Why dip just once? Let’s create a whole a la carte combo of dips and double dips for a seriously snackalicious party.
I’ve pulled together five fabulous combos. Stuff you can nab from the grocery store fast, set up in minutes, and lay out for a tapas style treat fest, complete with space to canoodle between tubs of hummus.
Scroll. Salivate. Then get your friends together.
Because, seriously. YOLO.
But you should YATD (You Always Dip Twice)!
Grab a bottle of Ginger and Sesame spice in the Asian aisle of your grocery. Or visit an Asian Grocery Store and get a bag of seaweed topper. Then, expect your life to change for the better. This combo is crazy delicious.
My mama used to do this, but with cream cheese. I actually like the hummus better.
Don’t diss until you taste it. The flava on this combo is fab.
Okay, and then this happened. And I was like, Ohh emmm geeee.
I have officially eaten 82 pickles. This combo is ridiculous. Go make it now.
