A neighbor once told me, "sometimes we go to bed early, just because we're so excited to have coffee in the morning."
I wasn't a coffee drinker then. Now, I totally get.
First thing in the morning nowadays, every day, the alarm rings and BF Jordan squeezes me. "Who's turn to start the coffee?"
There is nothing better than coffee.
Except, perhaps, this here turmeric milk.
A slightly sweet, creamy combination of coconut milk and anti-inflammatory super spice turmeric, this is the one drink that can make me skip my daily cuppa Joe. It tastes like a coconut-vanilla latte, with a touch of spice and kiss of golden honey. After trying this recipe during the Food for Life 28-Day Challenge, one gal said "this is literally the best turmeric milk I have ever tasted."
So, atop it's almost-as-good-as-coffee status, we'll add tasty-as-heck, too.
Serve this one warm or cold. I love both options, letting the weather decide which it'll be. For winter, this milk is almost as lovely as anything else I can think to sip. Especially tea. I'll pick this sweet drink over tea anytime.
In the summer, serve it over ice or blend it with frozen mango for a scrumptioso smoothie.
Make it, mix it, add it to your day. It's quite possibly the easiest way to get in a daily dose of turmeric. Not to mention, the damn near tastiest, too.

A great replacement for coffee, prep a batch of this ahead of time and enjoy it anytime you need a little energy boost (or something sweet)! Dilute with coconut water, ginger tea or hemp milk, if desired.
Makes 2 cups | 5 minutes
- 1 to 2 tsp turmeric
- 1 Tbsp raw honey
- 1/2 cup coconut milk
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
Place all in a pint-sized mason jar. Shake until well combined. Enjoy cold or heat on the stove for a warm and creamy tea. If desired, add a small amount of fresh grated ginger, as well.
